Today is a day for gold. A day for yellow.
Today is a day for sitting in the sun and soaking up its buttery rays.
It’s a day for wearing and eating all the yellows and golds and noticing them everywhere they show up:
Yellow on the caution sign.
Yellow in the traffic light.
Gold in the Mastercard logo.
Gold in the lettering on the coffee table book.
Yellow on the ripening peaches.
Golden honey dripping from a spoon.
Lemonade in spades.
Shimmering from your gold necklace.
Sunshine reflecting from the glass-faced high-rises.
All the flowers: the straggly late-season dandelion, the exuberant coreopsis, the cheerful mullein, the sturdy zinnia.
It’s a day for yellow and gold.
It’s one of the compatible colors for fiery, confident Leo whose season we’re currently in with the New Moon in Leo happening over the next 48 hours. This new moon encourages us to step into our own sparkle, to radiate our light, to shine brightly.
It’s the color frequency of your solar plexus chakra, the seat of your will and your confidence and your power to bring your own radiance into the world. (Hm. It’s the color of the precious metal gold: warm and tingling with the energies of abundance and ease, self-care, generosity, stability, and flourishing.
There’s magic in every color.
And today is a good day to play with the magic of yellow.
At least, that’s what my ancestors told me when I journeyed to see them last night.
They told me to attune to gold today.
And the ancestors have never led me wrong before.
So at least for me, today is yellow and gold.
